South Mountain Performing Arts Center
2003, Phoenix, AZ

Jones Studio, Inc. designed the new 30,000 SF, 350-seat variable acoustic theatre along with four multipurpose classrooms for South Mountain Community College. Not unlike the undulating surface of a Saguaro cactus, the break metal louvers dissipate heat, shade wall surface, and provide a tough shell to protect the soft, underlying interior sound chamber.
