Low Compound
1997, Scottsdale, AZ

Known in the community as “The Dirt House”, this 7,800 SF, rammed earth, single level residential compound sits gently on a 10-acre desert site. The home’s various functions were spread among several buildings in order to preserve the existing stands of Palo Verde trees, saguaro cactus and natural drainage patterns. A few minutes away and in complete contrast the Walner Residence was designed and built simultaneously with the Low Compound.
